International Missions

The Pearl House

The Pearl House provides HOPE: healing, opportunity, protection, and education.

Our four branches help us achieve each of these goals.

The Pearl House Haven is a counseling center, shelter, and residential complex for young women overcoming trauma.

Our Career Centers are private vocational schools, equipping young Ghanaian women, between the ages of 16 and 21, with the professional and life skills they need to succeed.

The Pearl House Residential Care program protects, educates, and disciples at-risk young women in underserved communities in Ghana.

The Pearl House Academy is a Christian school that inspires students in the community through innovative teaching.

NESHURO CARING CENTER – Zimbabwe

This wonderful children’s home was thriving and developing until the tragic death of the founder, Nhamo Chigohi, in 2015. Following that tragic loss, the ministry suffered from a loss of leadership and while other good men did what they could over some short terms, the lack of continuity and communication to supporters caused the ministry to deteriorate.

In February of 2020, the board of directors re-affirmed Nhamo’s widow, Mrs. Shylet Chigohi, as the Director and Manager of the facility. Shylet is well-educated and has been at the center of the ministry for a long time. Now she is stepping up to provide overall leadership and desperately needs more partners as she oversees the care of 21 boys and 18 girls.

Nhamo Chigohi Foundation

A new “Trust” organization has been created – the Nhamo Chigohi Foundation. The board of directors of this trust will own and operate the Neshuro Caring Center — the orphanage.

Messiah’s Outreach - Cuba, Columbia, Mexico

Jose was asked to help lead the teaching in Cuba with the Evangelical church for their annual youth camp. He mentioned this to his son in law, Pastor Elvis. Pastor Elvis had shared how they had been praying since 2005 for the church and the people of Cuba. Jose realized what a blessing to have Pastor Elvis come and share his passion after years of working with people in various parts of Bogota. This would not only bless our partners in Cuba; but bring his son in law Elvis hope and encouragement to the years of persevering and the blood, sweat, and tears he has for the communities of Colombia. The connection was years in the making and the Lord was about to bring him to another country to encourage young and old alike. He would see the Lord's work from a slightly different perspective of equipping warriors of the gospel and encouraging and challenging the faithful. He was to embark on this first visit and spread his testimonies and experiences to a new audience. Jose knew how these works would mutually benefit and sharpen each other's passions while rejoicing in God's faithfulness to the remotest corner's of world.

NEW HOPE HELP CENTER - WROCLAW, POLAND

Since May 2024, the New Hope Help Center has continued its work with refugees from Ukraine in a new format. We reviewed our work and came to the conclusion that those refugees who stayed in Poland (980,000 people by official statistics) are more in need of personal and specific support. Now we are focusing on providing spiritual assistance (psychological, prayer, reading the word of God together, chatting over a cup of tea, evangelization, invitation to church); financial assistance (medicine, dental treatment, purchase of underwear, legalization assistance, support in overnight accommodation for newly arrived refugees); humanitarian assistance (food, hygiene products, clothing); language assistance (interpretation from/to Polish in hospitals and city administrations).

We also established personal relationships with many of our guests (refugees), which allowed us to meet and preach the gospel of Christ to people in a personal manner.  Please pray for the people who have visited and are visiting our help center so that they will find the real comfort and peace that God has given!

Thank you for your participation, donations and assistance, for your participation in bringing the gospel to refugees from Ukraine and the poor residents of Wroclaw.

God bless you!

Cambiarte - Ecuador

Paul and Susan Fernane wear many hats. They are devoted parents to four grown daughters, grandparents to 14, and great grandparents to two.  After visiting Ecuador on a couple short-term trips with their church, Paul and Susan Fernane felt called to come and serve in Ecuador. They moved from Fishers, Indiana, to Quito in November 2005.

Their time has been devoted to serving those in desperate situations. They live in a small fishing village, Pacoche, with the Buenaventura family, who are national missionaries. The church in Pacoche is called Casa de Dios. Susan faithfully prepares Sunday school and kids’ club crafts for the local church. They also serve with a small church outside of Quito called Iglesia Buen Pastor San Carlos. They are passionate about showing the love of Christ in practical ways, and their ultimate desire is to see hearts transformed for eternity.

The Jimenez family have dedicated more than 20 years to serving the poor and sharing the love and hope of Christ with the people in their community. They have faithfully served hundreds of workers from the Quito city dump. They lead Bible studies, care for their children, teach life skills, provide job training opportunities, lead retreats, and more. Many people consider these workers outcasts, but Jose and Teresa consider them family.

They have three children: Fernando, Timothy, and Jamileth. They also pastor a church of approximately 120 people that is located about 10 minutes from the Quito airport. The name of the church is Iglesia Buen Pastor San Carlos.

Much like the people in the Quito city dump, their church members also earn very meager wages and live very difficult lives. The church not only teaches them the sustaining Word of God, but also serves the community with ministries for all ages and an after-school enrichment program. The church partners with many groups from North America who help to provide volunteers and financial resources to keep these ministries operating.

Despite two decades of successful ministry, Jose and Teresa feel like they are just getting started and have great dreams for furthering the Kingdom of God in Ecuador..

Pastor Víctor Fabián Buenaventura García is married to María Graciela Palma Macías. They have two children, the eldest is Elías Emanuel Buenaventura Palma and Benjamín Fabián Buenaventura Palma. They also care for a young boy named Moses who was adopted by Fabian’s family. He lives with them due to psychological issues.

Fabian worked on a tuna boat as a machinist and Graciela was an elementary school teacher before coming to Pacoche. When they felt the Lord calling them to serve, they left their jobs and decided to come to Pacoche to serve as national missionaries in the rural parts of Manta, Ecuador.

The Buenaventuras started serving the Lord in the year 2000. They went to Pacoche once a week to establish and cultivate relationships with the people in the community. One of the families there opened their house to them and allowed them to sleep there until the land was purchased to build the church/house. The first services as a church were held on February 2, 2001.

The church and ministries have grown, and they now have outreach ministries in three other nearby communities.
